As part of our planning consent, over the last 12 months, we have carried out an analysis of the air quality within the nursery and in its garden area.
Externally in the garden area, with our tree cover & building size, and internally with the introduction of air filters, we have managed to mitigate the main pollutant of air, Nitrogen Dioxide (No2).
We are now in a position to provide the results of this analysis.
We are pleased to announce that over the 12 month period, externally, our average readings were below the recommended levels of Nitrogen Dioxide (40 ugm3). The highest average reading for our garden area was 33 ugm3. That’s an average of 7 ugm3 lower than the recommended level, for the year.
Internally there are no specific recommended levels, but the highest average reading over the year for inside was 23 ugm3, well within safe levels. That is over 80% less than the readings taken by the council at the kerbside further along Cromwell Road (readings taken in 2013).
We are thrilled with these results and feel proud in the knowledge that, due to our efforts and continued appreciation for air quality, our nursery both internally and externally is a safe and happy place for our children to learn and play.
