We are a nursery of inclusion, welcoming all children no matter what their needs may be. We work together across education, health and care for joint outcomes. Creating positive partnerships and a culture of co-production is key.
We work very closely with the local authorities ‘Achieving for children’ who assist us with ensuring our children reach there developmental stages and milestones. We also ensure that no matter what our children’s needs are they are connected to the right services and given the right help when needed.
When children are transitioning from our nursery we ensure that all information is passed on to the relevant setting/school and that we either visit the setting/schools ourselves or they visit us here at the nursery, so we can give as much feedback as possible, to ensure that our children have a smooth transition process.
We have an amazing SENCO practitioner who works very closely with all children and families with SEN. She builds strong bonds with the children and their families, and works very hard to ensure children get all the help that they need, and are connected to the right services. Our SENCO practitioner has been on intense training and it always is continues to update her knowledge. Management also attend SEN training, therefore we are all equipped with the skills to support our children with additional needs across the board.
We have an amazing sensory room where children can do one to one/ group activates with a carer, or just take some time out of the main rooms when needs be, to relax and unwind.
If you need any direction, help or guidance regarding your child, please contact achieving for children, or see the local officer, and they can support you.
